The manor
TODAY …
The estate is a gifted all-rounder, using its extensive experience and flair to host meetings and conferences, weddings, team-building events, product launches, congresses, anniversaries, christenings, celebrations, retreats, workshops, cooking courses and culinary events, tastings, concerts, readings, theatre performances, family gatherings, and photo and film productions. For what occasion may we open our doors for you?
Back then …
It was commissioned in 1900 by Freiherr von Büsing-Orville from the then-star Munich architect Wilhelm Spannagel as a stud farm. Around 50 English thoroughbreds, noble hunter horses kept by the anglophile Freiherr, lived at Gut Sonnenhausen. On weekends, the Munich society would storm across the farmers' potato fields on wild hunts with them.
“A NEWCOMER”
The merchant, elevated to nobility thanks to his wealth, was already an entrepreneurial baron, a tobacco baron, who had amassed a fortune particularly through snuff, which allowed him, as a 'Zuagroasda' (newcomer), to leave a distinctive architectural mark in the Ebersberg district. Zinneberg Castle and Gut Herrmannsdorf, where our brother company 'Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten' is located today, were among many other architectural gems in his significant property portfolio.
