Georg Schweisfurth, what does organic farming mean to you?
From master butcher to eco-pioneer! 🥩🌿
Georg Schweisfurth hails from a true butcher family. His father managed Herta for years, the largest meat processing company in Europe with around 8,000 employees! After the Schweisfurth family sold the business, they turned towards organic agriculture.
In 1988, Georg co-initiated the Herrmannsdorf Workshops – a model project for sustainable agriculture and artisanal food production. Since 1996, he has been the managing director of the organic seminar and event hotel Gut Sonnenhausen.
In this podcast episode, Jan Peter Kruse talks to him about the differences between industrial and artisanal food production, the establishment of the organic supermarket chain Basic, and the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla in 2019 👑
