Jean-Pierre Corpataux – New Works at Gut Sonnenhausen
The new works of Jean-Pierre Corpataux have arrived with us – and we are very pleased with this special new addition. The art of our dear friend enriches the house in a quiet, impressive manner.
Corpataux, also known as Le Boucher Corpaato, is a Swiss painter renowned for his expressive depictions of livestock, meat, farmers, and serene vegetable compositions. His works are devoid of irony; rather they show a deep connection and a respectful perspective on the relationship between farmer and animal – a theme that has always held a special place in Sonnenhausen.
Born in 1950 in Fribourg, Corpataux grew up in his family's butcher's shop and initially trained as a chef. In 1984, after graduating from culinary school, he began to paint regularly. Today he lives and works in Fribourg, and his paintings find their way to special places – now also to us.
We are very pleased to have his works in the house. They integrate as if they have always been part of Sonnenhausen, while at the same time bringing a new, exciting perspective.
